RESEARCH UPDATES
Carotech Bhd is committed to supporting customers with scientific rsearch and studies on the health benefits of Tocomin® and the patented Tocomin®SupraBio™ - Natural Full Specrum Palm Tocotrienol Complex. Several studies in the past few years and current on-going studies have shown palm tocotrienol complex to be beneficial in lowering the risk of various free-radical mediated degenerative diseases.

Tocomin® is being used by researchers at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to study the anti-inflammatory effect on microglia. Microglia are macrophages of the central nervous system (CNS), they protect the CNS by swallowing up external agents (phagocytosis) during an attack or injury but at the same time, this inflammatory response may in turn damage the body's own tissues and cells.

Palm tocotrienol complex has long been shown to possess anti-inflammatory property over neurons. This ongoing study aims to examine if palm tocotrienols have similar effect in limiting the inflammatory activities of microglia.
