At the moment, Carotech runs the only sizeable integrated plant in Malaysia. The plant is strategically located at Chemor, Perak, Malaysia. This provides access to rich supply of crude palm oil, as Perakremains the 3rd largest producer of palm oil in Peninsular Malaysia.
The plant has been running at full enlarged capacity to achieve optimal operating levels. With our planned expansion in 2006, we are expecting to be the leading and largest producer of these phytonutrients in the world.
One of the most important phytonutrients in edible oils is Vitamin E. Vitamin E is the generic name for the family of tocopherols and tocotrienols. In nature, eight compounds have been found to possess vitamin E activity.
