The Carotech Process (US Patent No: 5,157,132) Innovation with Molecular Distillation (Ultra-High Vacuum, Super Low Temperature)
Carotech has embarked on its full production activities via its unique extraction process that is protected through US Patent No: 5,157,132 (1992).
Unlike other producers, Carotech uses its patented Molecular Distillation process (with ultra-high vacuum, super low temperature) in its integrated production plant. This unique process allows Carotech to extract valuable phytonutrients, specifically the Tocotrienol Complex (Tocomin®), Mixed Carotene Complex (Caromin®)andPhytosterol (Stelessterol™) from the crude palm oil. During the extraction process, Carotech also produces methyl ester, which is sold as biodiesel (CaroDiesel™), with crude glycerine as a co-product.
One of the most important phytonutrients in edible oils is Vitamin E. Vitamin E is the generic name for the family of tocopherols and tocotrienols. In nature, eight compounds have been found to possess vitamin E activity.
