PRESS RELEASE

Edison, New Jersey, June 28th 2010

First International Scientific Conference on Tocotrienols & Chronic Diseases, to be held in Las Vegas, USA, 29 – 30 July 2010

June 28th, 2010 – Edison, NJ – The world’s largest and only GMP-certified tocotrienol producer, Carotech Inc, is pleased to announce that the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) will hold its inaugural international conference on “Tocotrienols and Chronic Diseases” from July 29 – 30 at Wynn Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

World renowned professors, academics, research and regulatory experts will gather in Las Vegas for a 2-day international conference, to present latest research updates, insights and new potentials of palm tocotrienol complex. The Conference will highlight the many unique and novel benefits of palm tocotrienol complex such as neuroprotection against stroke-induced injuries, cardioprotection, skin nutrition (acceleration of wound healing and reduction in scarring), anti-inflammatory action, anti-cancers (prostate, breast, colon, etc.), protection against radiation injuries, nutrition, absorption/pharmacokinetic and bioavailability.

The Malaysian Palm Oil Board’s decision to organize this conference on Tocotrienols & Chronic Diseases came in conjunction with the news that palm tocotrienol complex received the final notification of no objection for GRAS from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in April 2010. Carotech has been actively involved in the process of GRAS application together with MPOB since 2008.

The significance of palm tocotrienol complex being GRAS approved means application of palm tocotrienol complex ingredient like Tocomin® (Carotech Inc.) is now extended to everyday food and beverage products such as margarine and spreads, bakery products, functional beverages and more.

“This inaugural event is a “Must Attend” if you have been following tocotrienol’s studies that we regularly post on our websites. We thank MPOB for inviting us to be a part of the Conference,” says WH Leong, Vice President, Carotech Inc. “Distinguished speakers like Prof. Chandan Sen, Prof. Paul Sylvester, Dr. Sharon Campbell and Dr. Kalanithi Nesaretnam, our own Prof. KH Yuen, to name a few, will be presenting their latest research on palm tocotrienol complex.”

"We are proud to contribute to this scientific conference specifically on tocotrienols. Being the largest and only GMP-certified tocotrienol producer, it underscores Carotech’s emphasis on science and clinical trials to bring this unique form of vitamin E to the market." added WH Leong.

Registration for the Tocotrienols & Chronic Diseases Conference is free of charge.
